What is Tinnitus?

It’s a constant ringing, hissing, clicking or even high-pitched sound in the ear that when you have it, only you can hear it!

Common Causes

I am not a doctor nor do I claim to be one! However, most of the people I have helped with Tinnitus tell me they suffer from: anxiety, stress (a huge factor), listened to too much loud music over the years, even their diet played a role in the causes! For example most of their diets consisted of lots of bread and pasta. Both of which contain a lot of space and air and coupled with stress, can be a contributing factor of tinnitus!

Can Yoga Help Reduce Tinnitus?

Yes is the answer, I can only give you examples from students that I have worked with who came to me with tinnitus problems. The common cause of tinnitus that seems to be amongst my students was stress. Focusing on techniques that enable the students to relax, de-stress their body and mind enabled the students to apply these techniques into their daily lives, with a little bit of practice, patience and time, affectively reduce if not completely eradicate the tinnitus!

Which Yoga Techniques Can Help Me Reduce My Tinnitus?

  • Triangle pose
  • Matsyasana
  • Supt Uttanpadasan (stop as soon as you feel dizzy)
  • Shavasan
  • Yoda Nidra
  • Humming bee breath

If you are interested in learning these poses and how I can help improve your symptoms of Tinnitus, then please get in touch to arrange a consultation or a session.
